**CAUTION: The monk's passion, brilliance, and boldness might just be the beginning of a game-changer God has in mind for you!

I want to share a bit of "the Monk" with you.

Brother was such a tremendous gift in so many lives. I think his wisdom and passion will be a blessing to you. You'll hear us discussing:

  • does God care if my teenage daughter gets good grades in math?
  • aren't all religions holding on to/describing the "same elephant"?
  • why did Jesus heal a blind person INSTEAD of all blindness?
  • why would a loving God allow the existence of Hell?
  • prayers unanswered?
  • why a priest is like a garden hose
  • God didn't ask me when he made the grass green
  • why Jacob walked with a limp for the rest of his life (and how you and I should wrestle with God!)
  • what's your cross? [You might both like and hate this answer]
  • how the Old Testament is a "record of failed communication"!
  • a perspective on memorized prayers
  • the pause and mystery
  • you'll also see us making bread on Good Friday - the last year of the Monk's life on earth... Brother's take on this bread-making tradition: "It's not about the bread!"
  • peak moments, cable cars & the "lurch"
  • A-B-C path to God?

As the Monk often said, "People go where they are fed. 2,000 years ago and today!" I pray that these conversation excerpts will feed your soul and your quest for what is true, good, and beautiful.

What would You Ask?

Imagine this…You are stranded for several days in a cabin, deep in the woods, with no electricity, no books, no games, no internet connection, no phones, no electronics whatsoever. You have plenty of food, a warm fire, a seemingly endless supply of seasoned firewood, and an old-fashioned – but fully functional – wood stove. You are alone with your thoughts... and the Monk.

Yes, the Monk! The two of you will wait out an incredible winter storm together. The monk is a gifted chef. In fact, he seems to be very gifted at just about everything. He is well-read in every topic you bring up. His memory is sharp and his gift for story-telling unsurpassed. It seems that the monk understands and has thought deeply on all of life’s questions: philosophy, money, parenting, religion, faith, purpose, relationships, work, culture.

Any question you offer is handled masterfully, from multiple angles and perspectives. The monk welcomes dialogue with a deep and heartfelt kindness that perfectly complements the fire’s warm glow.

What would you ask the Monk?
